Visiting the highest level of international commerce, law, and human rights is only a part of the opportunity that GBSB Global Business School provides to its master and bachelor students.
Our students are also always invited to attend a few conferences or meetings hosted by various institutions and teams within the United Nations Office in Europe and World Trade Organization. Not to mention, GBSB Global Business School students get a chance to see Geneva, beautiful, rich and cosmopolitan city, the capital of the world citizens.
Global Study Trip to Geneva of Master Students of GBSB Global Business School Barcelona 2016
This year the Business Ethics Delegation of GBSB Global Business School in Geneva was formed of the master students from the USA, Russia, Kazakhstan, Pakistan and Palestine. It included the students from the following programs:
- Master of Business Administration
- Master of Science in Marketing Management
- Master of Science in Entrepreneurship
- Master of Arts in Tourism and Hospitality Management
- Master of Arts in Marketing Communications & Future Marketing
The group was very excited to visit the offices and meeting rooms where the heads of their governments, delegates, and diplomats discuss the hottest topics of today and make the decisions that determine our tomorrow.
This time, our students visited the following international organizations:
- Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights
- European Office of the United Nations
- United Nations Conference on Trade and Development
- The World Trade Organization
Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights
The Global Study trip experience started in the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights where the students had a chance to learn more about the initiatives, programs and processes of the UN related to human rights world wild.
The GBSB Global Business School group was engaged in an interesting discussion on the topic and had a chance to express their point of view on the current problematic issues. After that, the group headed to the UN European headquarters.
European Office of the United Nations
Some of you most probably know that almost anyone can book a guided excursion in the European Office of the United Nations in Geneva. However, in that case, you will have to be in a group and follow the guide only to the areas and offices included in the guided excursion program. The lucky delegates of GBSB Global Business School had a totally different experience in the UN.
They had a special invitation to a meeting with the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development which allowed them to have a free independent access to UN facilities. The students attended the general excursion and after everyone else was invited to leave the premises, GBSB Global Business School students could stay and have a better look at the UN office and its conference halls, have a lunch in the UN very special international buffet which offers food from various world cuisines and then proceed to the meeting.
United Nations Conference on Trade and Development
The meeting with the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development was dedicated to the trends and current issues in the world economy. Our group was particularly excited about the financial system development and the Big Three – some of the touchiest topics when it comes to ethics.
The World Trade Organization
World Trade Organization visit was exceptionally interesting thanks to the WTO spokesman Josep Bosch who uncovered the details of dispute settlement processes at WTO, spiced with the real life examples and behind the scenes stories. The group of GBSB Global Business School students was all ears. They were listening with their eyes right open paying attention to every world.
Our master students had a lot of questions and comments and did not want to leave the WTO office. Who would expect that dispute settlement discussion would be so much fun?! We would like to express our gratitude to the World Trade Organization and Josep Bosch for collaboration and for making our visit to their office so special.
Education Abroad But Not Only
The Global Study Trip was very educational but not only. GBSB Global Business School master degree programs students also enjoyed the beautiful city of Geneva, its charming lake, the famous fountain, gorgeous old town in the evening accompanied with the Swiss cheese fondue, exceptionally good milk chocolate, and hot international discussions at the bar inspired by the events and meeting of the day.
In the evening, in their small but very international circle of friends, the students could reflect on all the information and most importantly share the perspective of their culture and local experience with each other. A lot of lessons were learned and many memories were created.
GBSB Global Business School master of science and master of business administration students had an exceptional experience during their Global Study Trip to Geneva. They visited some of the most important international organizations that play a key role in the world economic and social development such as United Nations and World Trade Organization as special guests, participated in very engaging discussions and interesting meetings with the representatives of the organizations.
The students had a chance to enjoy the amazing city of Geneva, get to know more about the problematic issues in the world, get to know each other better, and most importantly, once again, discover some new sides of their own personalities because as we all know, when you travel abroad you get to know yourself.
