We are proud to welcome Dr. Wiktor Patena, the Head of Institution and President of GBSB Global Business School, who has begun his tenure on January 9th, 2024.
Dr. Patena came to GBSB Global from the Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT), the largest higher education institution in UAE, where he served as Division Chair, Associate and Executive Dean from 2015 to 2023. He successfully managed a department with over 200 professors and more than 7000 students. Previously, Wiktor had a long history of accomplishments in higher educational institutions of Poland, including management of the business school WSB – National Louis University in Nowy Sącz as Vice-Provost and Provost.
Wiktor is a strong academic management professional with diversified academic and practical experience who uniquely combines theory and practice of corporate finance with background in teaching a variety of finance courses, research activity focused on company valuation. He had experience as an independent business consultant, entrepreneur and business owner; worked as a privatization advisor to the Ministry of Treasury in Poland. Besides, he brings solid expertise in accreditation processes, topped up with a recent successful accrediting of HCT Business School by AACSB in 2023.
Dr. Patena specializes in company valuation and behavioral finance. He published over 30 scientific papers and did the teaching as a visiting professor in many academic institutions including: Riga Stockholm School of Economics (Latvia), Ecole de Management Leonard de Vinci (Paris, France), Instituto Politecnico de Porto (Portugal), University of Pecs (Hungary), Cyprus College (Cyprus), Tietgen Business School (Odense, Denmark), Hof University of Applied Sciences (Hof, Germany).
Wiktor will be headquartered in Malta and assume a pivotal global role within the institution, taking leadership in driving GBSB Global towards further advancement of strategic, academic and operational excellence.
